Who can volunteer?
- Anyone can volunteer - nobody is excluded.
For example,
age is no barrier - from teenage school pupils helping in nurseries to a
granny becoming a 'friend' to a lonely person.

Getting Started?
- The first step is to contact the Volunteer Centre to arrange a
chat with the Manager, Mary Ray

- Decide on how much time you want to offer and what your level of
commitment will be.
- Explore the possibilities by talking to groups or individuals needing
voluntary help.

- Examples of current placements are:
- providing clerical support in the office of Alzheimer's Action
on Dementia
- moving goods between Imperial Cancer Research shops in the area
- offering friendship and support through the East Fife Mental Health
Befriending Project
- helping young families through Home-Start
- working with cats and kittens at the Cupar Animal Trust Shelter
- driving stroke victims to the Splash swimming club in St Andrews
- teaching English to speakers of other languages through ESOL
- ... the list is endless.
- Volunteers come from a range of backgrounds and ages with widely varying
skills with one thing in common - they want to help you!
