A Catalyst for Change - Officers from Fife Council and the NHS in Fife are developing a "Commissioning
Strategy" to plan the future design and delivery of health and social care services for older people in Fife.

They are holding a development day on 14th November at the Gilvenbank Hotel, glenrothes (formerly The
Snooty Fox)
A Catalyst for Change is a self-assessment and improvement tool that enables health and social care
organisations, along with their partners, to identify strengths and weaknesses in their commissioning activity.

Consultation on the Proposals for Charities Reorganisation (Scotland) Regulations 2007
- If you would like

responses should be submitted by 15th January 2007.

Public Partnership Forums - Launch events - : Find out what the PPF is for; help identify local health issues;
find out about the Community Health Partnership and its plan for local NHS services; discuss how it will
work; talk to local decision makers. Format: a short presentation at 3pm and 5.30pm, with stalls to visit on
the above thereafter. Feel free to drop in at any point.

CAF does not accept requests for funding only and is willing to provide additional support for joint bids
involving more than one organisation.

The next deadlines for applications are 17 November 2006 and 2 February 2007.

Allen Lane Foundation

The Allen Lane Foundation aims to fund projects which
· will make a lasting difference to people’s lives rather than simply alleviating the symptoms or current
problems;
· are aimed at reducing isolation, stigma and discrimination;
· encourage or enable unpopular groups to share in the life of the whole community.

The Foundation is interested in funding work which benefits people in the following groups, or generalist
work which includes significant numbers from more than one such group
· asylum-seekers and refugees
· gay, lesbian, bi-sexual or transgender people
· gypsies and travellers
· offenders and ex-offenders
· older people
· people from black and minority ethnic communities and migrant workers
· people experiencing mental health problems
· people experiencing violence or abuse

The Foundation is willing assist with staff training costs.

Women's Fund for Scotland - Deadline for applications 15th December 2006. Grants will be available to:

Warm Front Grant - funded by the Department of environment, Food and Rural Affairs and has been
introduced to help make homes warmer, healthier and more energy efficient. - They are for any one who
receives an income or disability-related benefit and owns their own home or rents if from a private
landlord. Families could take advantage of - Two energy-efficient light bulbs,, energy-efficiency advice,
Loft or cavity wall insulation. Gas, oil or electric central heating for up to the value of £2,700.

Community fund
It's Your community - O2 launches new community fund
O2 has launched a new community fund to enable people to make real improvements to where they live.
Awards of up to £1,000 will be available to support local environmental, urban renewal and conservation
projects. The funding is available for both groups and individuals and could, for instance, be used to hire
tools and equipment, or to purchase plants, paint, signs and materials. Examples of projects that could
receive funding include turning derelict land into a wildlife area or planting flowers in the High

Charities Aid Foundation Consultancy and Training Fund Grants

The Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) aims to support small and medium-sized charities by providing
low-cost, high quality consultancy and support for training. Any UK-based charitable organisation
with an annual income of up to £3m can apply for a Consultancy and Training Fund grant. Organisations
can apply for a grant with a total value of £20,000 – this includes up to 20 days of consultancy and
financial support to meet external training costs.

Christmas Charities Market - 2006 - Due to lack for interest and other commitments we have had to
cancel our charities market this year. Please find below a questionnaire to our members asking for ideas
and opinions on whether we should continue to hold a yearly market or look to other activities. We would
be grateful if you could return it either by email or post. Many thanks in anticipation.
